OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, we have heard from many parents concerned about the impact the coronavirus crisis is having on their emotional health and their children’s mental well-being. Young children and teens, too, are expressing their own worries about the Covid-19 impact is having on their lives.

Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to protect your family’s mental health during this very difficult time. Below you’ll find a great resource complete with guidelines, activities and experiences that will help you promote positive well-being at home.

What is mental well-being?

According to the Mental Health Foundation, good mental health starts in infancy. Strong bonds created in the first five years of a child’s life are crucial to their resilience and well-being is the key to their future mental health. The Mental Health Foundation reported in 2019 that one in 10 children and young people are affected by mental health issues, so it is paramount that we promote and support children’s personal, social and emotional development in the early years.

There is lots of advice and guidance available and you should make it a priority to up-skill in this area, learning as much as you can to support our children.

The guide book will provide you with:

  • Activities, experiences and tips to promote well-being
  • Activities for children based on age group
  • Family experiences for all ages
  • Physical activities
  • Emotional literacy & communication (including book & printouts)
  • Environmental wellbeing
