DAY NURSERY

From mud kitchens to growing vegetables for snack, inquisitive minds will learn how things work, grow and evolve.

Our natural holistic curriculum has been developed to meet the seven areas of learning as set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We do this through a variety of outdoor play and creative messy activities designed to foster a love for learning through exploration.

We tailor all learning opportunities on each individual child’s interests and abilities. From storytelling to yoga, artwork to games, your child will be engaged in a style of age-specific education that nurtures children’s natural curiosity and encourages communication. You’ll find us learning numbers and counting by looking at trees and birds, shapes and colours are aided by leaves and feathers, and natural elements investigated with water, air and sometimes even mud.

We pride ourselves on our enrichment programme, which includes Montessori teaching methods, field trips, music sessions, yoga, and plenty of nature-based forestry education in addition to EYFS curriculum. Our settings are situated in beautiful rural and woodland locations offering fantastic indoor and outdoor play in safe cozy environments.

At Treehouse, we are passionate about Forestry and strongly encourage spending time in nature; all our children go out at least twice a day and whenever possible.

BABY ROOM

A safe environment for exploration and growth.

Our purpose-built baby rooms are bright, cheerful and stimulating, offering a caring environment for babies aged 8 weeks onwards. The emphasis is very much on providing home-from-home care with oodles of routine flexibility, play, love and attention. We work with you to ensure your baby’s home routine, abilities and needs are closely followed, providing continuity and stability.

From birth babies are busy, active learners, immediately investigating the sights, sounds, and feel of the world. Children are encouraged to discover the world of colour, shape and texture through the use of natural light, toys, adult interaction and sensory experiences.

Your child will be provided times for quiet and busy play, sleep/rest time, outdoor and indoor activities, structured, group and child-led free play.

  • Learning Journeys
  • All our learning journeys are done interactively, giving our mummies and daddies instant access to your child progress, you will be able to see their progress, pictures and video’s of all the amazing things they do during the day and be able to contact your child key person via this system. At the end of each term you will receive a termly report

  • Risers
  • Risers are for our children that are going to ‘big school’ which can be daunting for them and their families.
Risers sessions focus on making the children’s transition to infant school being relaxed and ready for their next stage of education, this is why it is important to prepare the children to be ‘school ready’ such things as being able to change for PE, to follow a more structured curriculum, being more responsible for their things, speech, hand writing and phonics are up to date. At break time we practice games that they can play with older more stimulating toys what they would find in ‘big school.’

At the end of the session the children choose a library book to take home with them and there are Risers homework sheets, based on Letter and Number activities. A main focus of these sessions is to support the children’s transition to school and our Risers team have a good relationship with representatives and teachers from local schools and have opportunities to meet with them at appropriate times throughout the year.  The children will be invited to be taken along to their respective schools with their parents and families and the teachers will make arrangements with us to come and visit the children at pre-school.

During the Summer Term a group leaver’s photo is taken for parents and careers to purchase and at the end of this term each child is presented with their Risers leavers folders at a Leaver’s Ceremony which family and friends are invited to.

  • Your Childs Key Person
  • To make sure the children in our care get the most out of their time at preschool we want to build good partnerships between parents and staff.

So each child is appointed a Key Person, who will work closely with both you and your child to help them settle into a good routine at nursery, they monitor their development throughout their time with us.

This Key Person will be responsible for your child’s interactive Learning Diary and will be able to give you observations and feedback on your child’s time at The Treehouse Club. We have formal parents’ meetings regularly where you can discuss your progress tracker report, but you can contact your Key Person at any point to discuss any issues relating to your child.

    Extended Day – 7.00am to 7.00pm

    More than just A, B, C

We tailor all learning opportunities on each individual child’s interests and abilities. From storytelling to yoga, artwork to games, your child will be engaged in a style of age-specific education that nurtures children’s natural curiosity and encourages communication. You’ll find us learning numbers and counting by looking at trees and birds, shapes and colours are aided by leaves and feathers, and natural elements investigated with water, air and sometimes even mud.

  • Uniform List
  • As a Forestry Nursery, by its very nature we are exposed to the elements. The meaningful experiences children gain from interacting with various forms of weather is invaluable and a core part of The Treehouse Club curriculum. We believe there is no ‘bad’ weather; just bad clothing and we don’t mind a little mud.

When joining the Treehouse Club, you will receive a t-shirt, jumper and wet suit to be worn when attending.  For replacements, please contact the office.

We strong suggest wearing wellies to each session and we require a pair of indoor shoes.
