Have you meet our Forestry Leader? Big Welcome to Amanda!

Have you meet our new Forestry Leader at the Treehouse Club?

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Amanda.   All the children at our various settings have had the opportunity to participate in fantastic outdoor learning and Forest School with Amanda.

Here is a little Q&A:

Q: A bit about your background?  When did you get into forestry education?

A: I’ve worked in Early Years for a long-time and always enjoyed activities outdoors as well a being a Club Leader.  I saw how much my classes benefitted when they did Forest School.  I decided to train with Essex Wildlife Trust and became a qualified Forest School Leader.

Q: What is your favourite forestry activity?

A: A campfire on a chilly day, toasting marshmallows or crumpets.

Q: What do you find inspiring about forestry education / forest school?

A: What inspires me is the ‘Holistic Element’ – children can develop in all areas and direct their own teaching.  The benefits of being outdoors as much as possible are huge.

Q: If you were a woodland animal, what animal would you be and why?

A: A squirrel – because they are such good climbers and I would love to see the world from their view point.

We are proud to say that our Treehouse team are a passionate lot, united in creating something really special and something different.  Well Amanda  we hope you have enjoyed your first few weeks!  Can’t wait to see more of your forestry activities.

New Out-of-School Club in Hanningfield Area!

Are you interested in a new local After School Club?  In need of wrap-around childcare for 2019/2020 school year?

The Treehouse ‘Forestry Nursery & Out of School Club’ is looking to expand and acquire the running of an ‘After School Club’ held at ‘The Village Hall’ in East Hanningfield CM3 8XD. The hall has substantial facilities and playing fields; and would be run by our experienced and enthusiastic staff.

The Treehouse Club has been helping children learn through outdoor-play since 2011. We provide exceptional high quality care and education for children; including daycare provision for babies, nursery, preschool and through to our extremely popular forestry based out-of-school and holiday clubs.

Our aim is to provide affordable, high quality out-of-school hours childcare for busy parents and families. We are more than just a childcare service…we believe in creating lasting memories and opportunities for children to learn new skills in the great outdoors.

The sessions usually run from 3:00 – 6:30 or 7:00pm each day and the children are provided with a healthy dinner with drinks. Our programming is specially planned to enable children to be cared for in a safe, positive and creative setting with a multitude of varied activities including; forestry skills, bushcraft, wildlife discover, team building, outdoor pursuits, cookery, arts & crafts, sports and plenty of games and challenges.

All our children are escorted to/from school by The Treehouse Club professional staff by minibus, car or walking-bus. We would be looking to service a number of local schools in the Hanningfield, Woodham, Bicknarce and Rettendon areas.
